Jupiter Playground Renovations Roadmap
Jupiter Parks Set for Exciting Playground Makeover!
The Town of Jupiter is bringing a fresh wave of excitement to the community with a major overhaul of local park playgrounds. These projects will replace outdated equipment, introduce new play features, provide additional shade, and enhance accessibility to ensure each playground is more inclusive and enjoyable for children of all abilities. With vibrant new designs and safer, more interactive spaces, these playgrounds will soon become even more inviting destinations for family fun and outdoor adventure.

The Town of Jupiter’s new playgrounds are the result of strong community advocacy, sustained public feedback, and a shared goal: to create safe, inclusive, and engaging spaces for children and families. Here’s how we got here—and what’s coming next.
It Started with the Community
Residents took the lead in sparking the conversation about playground improvements:
- Community members spoke at Town Council meetings to request updated playgrounds.
- Many also shared feedback on social media, with a clear message: “Build playgrounds like the one in Alton.”
The Alton playground, known for its clean, accessible layout and modern design, became a model that residents wanted to see reflected in Jupiter’s parks.
A Plan Begins to Take Shape
In response, the Town began a comprehensive process to evaluate and improve our parks system:
- We committed to renovating 12 of the 13 existing playgrounds across Jupiter.
- We launched a broader effort to create a Parks and Recreation Facilities Master Plan to guide long-term facility upgrades.
- In Spring 2024, we hosted a public input session where residents shared their ideas for the future of our playgrounds.
- A follow-up community-wide survey invited additional input from all who call Jupiter home.
Designs Shaped by You
When initial playground designs were released in summer/fall 2024, we once again invited public feedback—and the community responded.
Consistent themes emerged from every round of input:
- Requests to “build a playground like in Alton”
- A desire for plenty of shade, both natural and structural
- Calls for accessible, inclusive, and open play areas
- Interest in features like splash pads, swings for all ages, and ADA-compliant restrooms
What’s Included in the New Designs
Thanks to your input, the new playgrounds will include:
- Inclusive play equipment that welcomes all ages and abilities
- Non-toxic synthetic turf for smooth, wheelchair-accessible surfaces
- An ADA-compliant restroom at Indian Creek Park coming in Phase 2 of Indian Creek Park (with the Town evaluating options at other parks)
- A spray ground coming in 2026 as part of Phase 2 at Indian Creek Park
- Swings and imaginative play elements at every location
- A focus on preserving mature trees wherever possible and installing shade structures where needed
We're thrilled to see how many residents care deeply about the future of Jupiter’s playgrounds!Over the past year, we’ve gathered your input—and used it to help design playgrounds that are safe, fun, and accessible for everyone. We have seen so many good comments and questions and wanted to address them all. |
- Does the Town have a plan to update its playgrounds?
- Why are you replacing the playgrounds, even if they don’t appear to need it?
- Why is the Town renovating some playgrounds and not others?
- Do Town residents have the ability to provide input into the design and experiences located in each park?
- Why is the Town installing turf in its parks?
- What is PFAS, and why is it a concern?
