The town of Jupiter respects the privacy of our residents, clients, partners, employees, website visitors, and job applicants. This Privacy Policy sets forth the privacy principles the Town of Jupiter follows concerning your Personal Information.

Any questions, comments, or complaints about the data practices (including compliance with data privacy principles of notice, choice, onward transfer, access, security, data integrity, or enforcement) of our Town of Jupiter residents, clients, or partners for which the Town of Jupiter processes data should be addressed to that client or partner.

Privacy Statement

Florida has a broad public records law. All correspondence sent to the Town of Jupiter via e-mail may be subject to disclosure as a matter of public record. Under Florida law, email addresses are public records. If you do not want your email address released in response to a public records request, do not send electronic mail to this entity. Instead, contact the Town of Jupiter by phone or in writing.

It is the policy of the State of Florida that all state records are open for public inspection. This policy is embodied in the Florida Constitution, together with the right of an individual to be free from unauthorized governmental intrusion into their private life, as provided in Article 1, Section 23. Web Visitors

We use your Personal Information to provide you with information about the Town of Jupiter and its products and services, including but not limited to Town legislative initiatives, recreation programs, webinars, newsletters, and job openings. You have the option at any time to opt out of any secondary communications such as informational communications, by clicking on “unsubscribe” at the bottom of any emails.

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your Personal Information to third parties for promotional purposes. However, we may disclose your Personal Information if we are required to do so by law or we, in good faith, believe that such action is necessary to (1) comply with the law or with the legal processes, including court orders, subpoenas, or bankruptcy proceedings; (2) protect and defend our rights and property; (3) protect against misuse or unauthorized use of our Site; or (4) protect the personal safety or property of our users or the public (among other things, this means that if you provide false information or attempt to pose as someone else, information about you may be disclosed as part of any investigation into your actions).

DO NOT TRACK

California law requires us to state how we respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals. Because there is currently no industry or legal standard for recognizing or honoring DNT, we do not currently respond to DNT signals. We await the result of work by the privacy community and industry to determine when such a response is appropriate and what form it should take.

The Site may contain links to third-party sites for your convenience and/or information. If you access those links, you will leave the Site and be re-directed to a third-party site. The Town of Jupiter does not control those sites or the privacy practices of those third-party sites, which may differ from the Town of Jupiter’s privacy practices. We do not endorse or make any representations about third-party websites, and the personal data you choose to provide to third-party websites are not covered by this Privacy Policy. Access

Town of Jupiter will take reasonable steps to ensure that your Personal Information is accurate, complete, and relevant to its intended use. Posts & Forums

We provide the Town of Jupiter posts and forums as a means for our residents, clients, and other users of our Site to communicate. If you use a bulletin board, blog, forum, or chat room on this Web site, you should be aware that any Personal Information you submit there can be read, collected, or used by other users of these forums and could be used to send you unsolicited messages. We are not responsible for the information you submit in these forums.

The practices described in this Privacy Policy are the current Personal Information protection policies as of the date specified above. The town of Jupiter reserves the right to modify or amend this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make changes to this Privacy Policy that we believe to be material regarding our collection, use, or disclosure of Personal Information, we will endeavor to post a prominent notice on our Site at least thirty (30) days prior to our implementation of such material changes.

Employees

The Town of Jupiter may process personal information from our prospective employees for, among other things, application process and authentication.

Mobile Applications

JUPConnect

The Town of Jupiter is using SeeClickFix powered by CivicPlus, an online and mobile service request system, to power its mobile app and reporting forms. JUPConnect is an application that allows residents to report non-emergency-related issues. SeeClickFix can be used via the web on a desktop computer, laptop, mobile phone, or tablet. SeeClickFix is a public application. The description entered will be visible to the public. Your display name will also be visible unless you choose to submit as Anonymous. Your email address will never be displayed publicly.  Users registering on the mobile application also agree to CivicPlus’ Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. Rest assured that any personal information collected through the JUPConnect app will also be handled in accordance with our privacy practices outlined in this policy.

Passport to Jupiter

Our mobile application, Passport to Jupiter, offers an immersive experience by showcasing a diverse range of locations within the Town of Jupiter. These locations encompass historical landmarks, parks, recreational facilities, natural habitats, beaches, and more. The app has been developed in collaboration with Eventzee and Freeze Tag, Inc., renowned developers who have played a pivotal role in shaping its interface. With Passport to Jupiter, users can explore and engage with the unique offerings of our town. We are deeply committed to safeguarding the privacy and security of our users' information. All data collected through the Passport to Jupiter app will be treated in accordance with the privacy principles detailed in this policy.
