2026 AARP Tax Aide
Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays

Note: Tax Counselors will be available on February 3rd and 4th from 9 am to 11 am at the Jupiter Community Center to answer taxpayer questions and help taxpayers understand the 2025 tax law changes. Save time by stopping in and picking up a 2025 intake form.
You don't need to be an AARP member, no age or mount of income restriction! The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide Program announces the opening of the 2026 tax season for the preparation of 2025 tax returns. Free tax preparation services will be provided to eligible taxpayers at the above days, times, and location. No appointments are necessary.
Other tax site notes are listed below:
- Any tax returns with capital gains and losses including but not limited to securities [stocks, bonds, mutual funds, etc.] won’t be prepared until after March 1st. Capital gains and losses are often shown on broker statements from financial institutions.
- Bring a picture Identification [driver’s license, passport, or State issued ID] for the taxpayer and spouse if filing a joint return.
- First time taxpayers at JCC, Bring Social Security cards or a tax form SSA-1099, for you and your spouse and any dependents you are claiming on your tax return.
- Check your 2024 tax return if you had a tax form in 2024 you should have a tax form for 2025 unless there was a change [e.g., discontinued/closed bank or retirement accounts, no long working or changed jobs, etc.].
- Bring a voided bank account check [checking or savings] showing your routing and account numbers. This is used for direct deposit or direct debits.
- Amended tax returns are prepared three weeks after the date the original tax return was filed and starting on March 15th. This is subject to the timing of tax season.
- Taxpayers seeking to have tax returns prepared for a taxpayer who cannot be present, need to provide a Durable Power of Attorney authorizing them to act on behalf of the taxpayer. This does not apply to spouses filing married filing jointly. Exceptions may be granted to returning taxpayers.
