Ongoing Fitness Classes
Ongoing classes do not follow the typical Summer, Winter, Fall & Spring class sessions dates and typically begin in August and continue through to April with only a few weeks break in between. Our instructors have developed teaching methods that can incorporate new students into their classes without holding back the current students.
The use of a pass allows you the freedom of only coming when it is convenient for you. The pass is actually a key fob so it conveniently attaches to your keys for easy access. Since not all ongoing classes go year round as the season comes to an end your left over passes do not expire.
A few things to remember about the pass card:
- A pass card is good for 10 classes and does not expire.
- You must sign up for ongoing classes in person at the Jupiter Community Center.
- The card is only good for the instructor it was purchased; however, you may attend any class the instructor is teaching
- Instructors will allow you take one free class prior to signing up.
- You are only charged a class if you attend, not if you miss one.
- Some classes have been converted to our new pass card system which allows you to swipe at the front desk located in the main Community Center lobby. All ongoing classes will eventually be converted to this electronic swipe pass card.
- Ongoing classes are open to Residents of Incorporated Jupiter and Non-Residents

|Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscle strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Workout is suitable for beginning and intermediate skill levels. **This may be free for you to participate if you have eligible health insurance. If it is not covered, the cost is $3 per class. |Classes combine relaxation, flexibility, balance and breath awareness. Stretch and tone your body while relaxing your mind and energizing your spirit, Ideal for those concerned with injuries.|
|Adult Self Defense|
|Through the study of Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate, learn and develop: Confidence, Reaction Training, Fitness and Weight control, and flexibility. Instructors: Kevin Fruge’ (2nd degree black belt), Howard Freedland (2nd degree black belt)|

|Functional fitness is a type of strength training class that trains the body for real life movement and activities. This class incorporates range of motion, flexibility, strength and balance movements. By mirroring the movements of your daily life, like squatting, reaching, twisting, and lifting, it will increase your quality of life and reduce your risk of injury. Designed for all levels-ages 55 and over. Modifications will be offered. Bring your own weights and exercise mat.|
|Total Body Toning||Tue & Thu|
|As women age, muscle tissue is lost, increasing the tendency to develop fat. This class will help to re-define and firm muscles by using hand weights, balls, bands, and the ballet barre to sculpt the whole body, increase balance, and build bone density to prevent osteoporosis. Class includes interval training to provide quicker weight loss and concludes with stretching exercises to keep you flexible making muscles less prone to injury. Bring an exercise mat and weights to class.|
|Zumba combines high energy and motivating music with unique moves and combinations that allow the Zumba participants to dance away their worries. It is fun and easy to do. Zumba is not only good for the body but also great for the mind.|
|The Charleston, Cha Cha, Line Dancing, Disco and Zumba steps are just a few of the steps you will enjoy dancing in these easy-to-follow aerobic dance routines. NO HIGH IMPACT MOVES! You won’t even realize that you are actually exercising in this one exhilarating hour of calorie-burning FUN! Class includes strength training exercises to sculpt arms, flatten stomach and tighten buttocks and thighs. Bring an exercise mat to class.|
|Calm your mind, increase flexibility and improve your strength and balance without the need to get down on the floor. Flow through range of motion exercises sitting in a chair or standing using a chair for support. Class ends with a period of meditation.|
