[ARCHIVED] Officers Save Life of Electrocuted Man

Jupiter, Florida – On December 12, 2012 at 4:30pm, two Jupiter Police Officers were on foot patrol on Honey Bell Way when they heard a subject yell. They immediately ran to the area and noticed two men waving their hands for help. It was then they discovered a male subject lying on the ground unresponsive. The officers were informed the subject had accidentally touched a high voltage power line, while in a bucket truck, painting a building within the Botanica development.

The officers immediately checked the subject for vital signs and discovered that he was not breathing and had no pulse. The two officers began to administer CPR and attached their Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to the subject. The officers were able to regain a pulse and continued to administer CPR until Palm Beach County Fire Rescue arrived on scene. The 26 year old male was then transported to St. Mary’s Hospital via Trauma Hawk.

As of this morning, the subject is listed in good condition. Due to the immediate actions of the two officers the subject is expected to recover from his injuries.
