Proposed Adjustment to

Water Rates and Stormwater Fees

Public Meeting September 4, 2025 • 7:00 pm

Town Council Chambers 210 Military Trail, Jupiter

On Thursday, September 4, 2025, the Jupiter Town Council will consider resolutions during its regular meeting for adjustments to monthly water rates and stormwater fees to ensure the continued delivery of safe, reliable and high quality water service. These adjustments help to cover rising operations costs, maintain and upgrade aging infrastructure, and meet growing environmental and regulatory requirements.

The proposed increases are 3% above current drinking water rates and 7% above current stormwater fees.

If the water rate increase is authorized by the Town Council, a residential water customer using 10,000 gallons of water per month will see a net increase of $1.32 per month.

Average Residential Monthly Water Charge

Current

Proposed

$44.08

$45.40

The Town of Jupiter Water System utilizes advanced membrane treatment technology to produce high quality drinking water that meets and exceeds regulatory standards. Our primary goal is to provide safe, reliable, and affordable drinking water. A recent rate survey of water utilities within Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast found that, the Town of Jupiter’s water rates will remain among the lowest for utilities using only advanced membrane treatment and within the lowest quartile of 19 utilities using conventional treatment or combined (membrane and conventional) treatment methods, which are generally less expensive to operate due to lower energy requirements.

If the Town Council approves a 7% indexed adjustment to stormwater fees, the typical residential stormwater fee will increase by $0.53 per month.

Residential Monthly Stormwater Utility Fee

Current

Proposed

$7.55

$8.08

Jupiter’s stormwater fees, with the 7% increase will remain the 6th lowest stormwater fee among 13 municipalities surveyed in Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast.

The Town of Jupiter’s Water and Stormwater Utilities are consistently recognized by industry professionals, regulators, and other utilities as benchmarks for excellence in operations, maintenance and compliance. We remain committed to providing safe, reliable and affordable water and stormwater services to our community. .

Resolutions for the proposed adjustments will be available one week before the September 4th meeting at www.jupiter.fl.us/agendas and in hard copy in the Town Hall lobby.
