Deputy Chief Shaw served as a Haz-Mat Technical Specialist and was responsible for collecting and reviewing information regarding hazardous material events, threats, and vulnerabilities from Hurricane Milton. He helped to develop the Incident Action Plans, and provided hazard and risk assessment recommendations to the IST and USAR task force personnel. Deputy Chief Shaw also helped coordinate with others in the IST to ensure that the USAR teams on the ground had the information they needed to sustain ongoing rescue operations. Deputy Chief Shaw has been a Florida USAR Task Force 2 member for 10 years.
