The beach will remain open during the project, but visitors will notice pipe along the beach and fenced-off areas where the immediate work is happening. Starting December, Sand will be pumped and placed along the shoreline in an effort to combat erosion.
PBC Environmental Resources Management is beginning the Jupiter/Carlin Beach renourishment project the week of November 18th. The project will run for 1.05 miles along Jupiter Beach, from south of the Jupiter Inlet to the southern boundary of Carlin Park.
The equipment and site preparation is taking place now, with pumping to begin December 1.
Visitors may also notice darker sand, cloudy water and an odor from the new sand, which will all subside within a few weeks of its placement. PBC ERM will be keeping the project webpage up-to-date as the project progresses.
Work is expected to be completed by the end of January 2020.
