Palm Beach County to Place Sand on Southern End of Jupiter Beach

The project will cover a 2.42-mile stretch, from beach access 33 in Jupiter to the Juno Ocean Club Condominium. The beach will remain open during the project, with only the immediate work area closed to the public.

Palm Beach County Environmental Resources Management (PBC ERM) is beginning the North County Comprehensive Shore Protection Project this week. This project will dredge about 969,600 cubic yards of beach-quality sand from a nearby offshore borrow area and place the sand on local shoreline to provide for storm protection, recreation and habitat for nesting sea turtles.

Work is expected to be complete by early February 2021. For more information on the project, view the project fact sheet or call PBC ERM at 561-233-2400.
