The Florida Department of Transportation has completed the Project Development and Environmental (PDE) Study necessary for replacement of the 60 year old bridge. Construction is is scheduled to begin summer of 2021, with the full bridge closure estimated to begin spring of 2022. Improvements include a higher bridge clearance, pedestrian sidewalks and bike lanes, implementation of ITS technologies and modifications to intersections for improved traffic flow.
2. Pelican Club (1065 N. A1A)
: Construction was completed in 2019 on renovations to the architectural elevations and the interior of the existing restaurant building, previously known as Rustic Inn and Bubba Gumps, on a four acre property. The restaurant/event venue opened in Spring of 2019.
3. Love Street Development Project (1116 Love Street):
Phase One of the Love Street project is under construction. Phase One includes two waterfront restaurants on a pedestrian-friendly open space, extension of the Riverwalk, construction of Lighthouse Promenade, and improvements to Love Street. Phase Two, which has not be scheduled for construction at this time, will include retail shops and office space. Commercial fishing boats are anticipated to return after construction.
4. Public Parking Lot on Love Street:
Construction of improvements, including resurfacing, restriping, landscaping, and lighting for the public parking lot were completed in early 2020.
5. Pink House (1011 Love Street)
: A retail/office use was approved in October 2018 for the existing single-family structure. In September 2019, medical office use was also approved. The exterior appearance of the building will remain as is. The landscaping will be improved. Construction has not started at this time.
6. Jupiter Oxbow (west side of A1A between Saturn and Parkway Street):
A mixed use development was approved on January 15, 2019, for the 0.7 acre property. The project will include seven multi-family residential units and 3,695 square feet of commercial fronting on A1A, and features a publicly accessible archeological/historic plaza and preservation of most of the mature oak trees on the site.
7. Kempe Property (northeast corner of A1A and Parkway Street):
Phase 2 is a mixed use project that will add office/retail, restaurant, and six residential units to the existing commercial office development (Phase 1). Phase 2 was approved in 2014 and received several development order extensions, but remains unbuilt.
8. Parkway Street Parking Lot:
The first phase of the parking lot for construction of 173 spaces is nearing completion. The final parking lot will provide 300 spaces when built out. There is no plan at this time to construct the additional spaces.
9. Inlet Waters (700 N. A1A):
A 35-unit multi-family residential community on 3.7 acres is currently under construction across A1A from the Alhambra office complex and north of the Jupiter River mobile home park. It will consist of seven two story townhouse buildings, a community pool area, and five-slip private marina.
10. East Indiantown Road (US 1 to A1A) improvements:
This project received funding approval for design and construction in early 2019 and is scheduled for construction for early 2022. The project will provide for increased safety for pedestrians and bicyclists, and will include continuous bike lanes, pedestrian crosswalks, and slower vehicular speed. Drainage and aesthetic improvements are also proposed. Landscape improvements include street trees and a wide center median for palm trees. Final approval is subject to an interlocal agreement being reached between the Town and Palm Beach County. Project is currently under design and developing 60% plans.
