The remaining Jupiter U 2020 tours have been cancelled 

It is said that the best learning happens through doing, so Jupiter U incorporates different sessions and tours to help residents learn about the Town’s character, vision and strategic direction. This year, learn about the history of Jupiter through various tours around Town.

Important Tip: You must register for each INDIVIDUAL session/tour of your choosing.

Welcome Jupiter U Class of 2020! Join the Mayor, members of Town Council, and members of the Historic Resources Board for updates about the Town and an overview of the Jupiter U program.

Learn Jupiter history from the experts. This presentation is hosted by several local experts and will lead participants through Jupiter’s history as well as some Palm Beach County history. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions from the speakers as they enjoy the presentation from the comfort of their seats at the Community Center.

This tour is the same as our Parks and Open Spaces Trolley Tour but doesn’t include the walking. You will see videos, images and examples of what you would find in Jupiter many parks and open spaces. Learn about Jupiter’s parks and open spaces in a classroom setting from Town staff.

Board an air-conditioned trolley for a narrated riding tour of Jupiter’s beautiful conservation areas - or Open Space land - as well as some of Jupiter’s more popular parks. Learn about why the preservation of natural habitats and offering quality recreational parks are so important to Jupiter’s quality of life. We will be walking on trails at the parks we stop at so please wear comfortable shoes.

Riverbend Park, maintained by Palm Beach County, showcases a lot of Jupiter’s natural beauty, but also is the site of the historic battles. Learn about the Seminole War battles fought at the site as well as some of the plant life in the area.

Learn the history of the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and climb to the top of the lighthouse to see the wonderful views.

The Loxahatchee River Center opened in August 2008 and allows visitors to explore the history of the watershed, its majestic environmental value, the impact of development, and projects underway to preserve this valuable and unique system. On this tour, see the center and enjoy a hands-on activity while learning more about the Loxahatchee River.

King Wekenmann has stories to share about his 44 plus years of service with the Town. He started working for the Jupiter Police Department when they were based out of the Old Town Hall, located at 1000 Town Hall Avenue. Now he works in the Information Services department, but over the years he has seen a lot of changes with the Town. Listen to his stories while enjoying coffee and snacks. Make sure to bring your questions.

Tour and learn the history of the Train Depot and Aicher House. This session will be guided by Town staff who will give detailed history of the Train Depot and the Aicher House.

At the DuBois Pioneer home, you will receive a guided tour courtesy of the fabulous museum docents. You’ll also be able to explore the grounds including the "Midden." Originally over 600 feet long and 20 feet high, this hill is a remnant of one of the last coast shell mounds in southeast Florida. Artifacts dating back several thousand years have been discovered here. The entire park was once a thriving village where ancient Floridians lived.
