It is said that the best learning happens through doing, so Jupiter U incorporates different sessions and tours to help residents learn about the Town's character, vision and strategic direction. This year learn about Jupiter's natural treasures and what you can do to help keep our Jupiter beautiful. 

Important Tip: You must register for each INDIVIDUAL session/tour of your choosing.

Tuesday, March 5, 2019: Busch Wildlife Sanctuary Tour

Participants will enjoy an informative guided tour of the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary as well as a wildlife encounter program at their Cypress Amphitheater. You'll visit a variety of habitats with live, native animals.  You may even encounter a bald eagle, Florida panther, otter or crocodile!

Immerse yourself in the natural beauty that we have in our own back yard. Riverbend Park, a park maintained by Palm Beach County, is made of more than 600 acres of land and highlights native plants and animals. On the walking tour, we will learn more about the plant life and possibly spot some wildlife in their natural habitat.

Meet at the Loxahatchee River District's wastewater treatment plant for an extensive walking tour of this remarkable facility.  Learn how wastewater is managed in an environmentally-friendly way and the LRD's commitment to reuse and conservation. You'll also learn how treated wastewater is stored and used for irrigation by local facilities.  The great folks at the Loxahatchee River District will show residents how they responsibly protect and manage our valuable natural resources.

Enjoy a paddleboard tour of the Jupiter Intracoastal waterway with a tour guide from Blueline Surf and Paddle. On the tour, participants will learn more about the plants and wildlife that live in and around the waterway.


 **This tour will be done entirely on stand-up paddleboards.**

Meet at the Plaza Down Under on the beautiful Jupiter Riverwalk for a walking tour of the Riverwalk's existing natural areas, and residential and shopping districts. Learn about Riverwalk sections, and plans to complete the 2.5 mile intracoastal pathway. Then, enjoy a lunch provided by a Plastic Usage Reduction Encouragement (PURE) business and learn about the Town's PURE campaign.

The Loxahatchee River Center opened in August 2008 and allows visitors to explore the history of the watershed, its majestic environmental value, the impact of development, and projects underway to preserve this valuable and unique system. On this tour, see the center and enjoy a hands-on activity while learning more about the Loxahatchee River.

This tour will take a small group on an exciting kayak tour of Fullerton Island. Located on the Intracoastal, just east of Sawfish Bay Park, Fullerton Island is an uninhabited, Town of Jupiter Open Space. The purchase by the Town allows the property to retain its conservation zoning and prohibits future development. Space is limited to the first 15 registrants. 


**This tour will be done entirely on double kayaks.**

Board an air-conditioned trolley for a narrated riding tour of Jupiter's beautiful conservation areas - or Open Space land - as well as some of Jupiter's more popular parks. Learn about why the preservation of natural habitats and offering quality recreational parks are so important to Jupiter's quality of life. We will be walking on trails at the parks we stop at so please wear comfortable shoes.
