The Jupiter Police Department's Junior Police Academy is open to Jupiter residents ages 9-12. Members of the Jupiter Police Department will provide students with the opportunity to learn more about the Jupiter Police Department and understand core police functions, explore careers in law enforcement, and participate in hands-on activities. Some physical activity and discipline will be involved.
This academy is specifically designed for ages and to provide an interactive look at police work. Students will have the unique opportunity to learn about several functions to include:
- Road Patrol
- Emergency Field Force
- Tac Med
- Crime Scene Investigation
- Scenarios with simulation room
Junior Police Academy Registration Forms Please print, complete, and sign the forms. The class is limited to the first 20 approved students. Applications can be turned in Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM to the Jupiter Police Records Department (196 Military Trl). There is no cost to attend this program and participating students will receive 2 t-shirts to be worn and a completion certificate. Students must provide their own transportation to and from and are expected to attend all classes. If you cannot attend all 5 days, please do not register.
ATTENTION: Students will be handling fake firearms and weapons to simulate training. Please only register your child if you approve of this.
A criminal background check will be completed prior to acceptance into the class. Individuals convicted of a misdemeanor or felony will NOT be accepted into the program.
**Please note - students should not attend the first day of class until a confirmation letter or phone call of acceptance is received. The Jupiter Police Department reserves the right to reject any applicant whom it believes would be counterproductive to the department and/or the program.
