The Patrol Bureau Commander is responsible for the most vital unit in the agency. The Patrol Bureau is comprised of Police Officers responsible for responding to and investigating calls for service and patrolling Jupiter's streets and neighborhoods. The Patrol Bureau also includes the Police Service Aides, Neighborhood Enhancement Team and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). This section has the primary responsibility for the department's effort to preserve peace, protect life and property, and the prevention and suppression of crime.
The Patrol Bureau is responsible for providing immediate response and preventive patrol for more than 25 square miles and 160 miles of roadways. The section is comprised of four squads. These squads are staffed by a District Commander, two Sergeants, and 12 to 16 Officers that are responsible for patrolling the three districts within the Town. Find out what district you live in.
Police officers assigned to this section provide service primarily via marked patrol vehicles, bicycles, all-terrain vehicles (ATV's), unmarked cars, and foot patrols, to provide state of the art service and protection to the citizens of and visitors to Jupiter. The Patrol Bureau strives to provide far more than the traditional response to complaints, committing themselves to the philosophy of Community Policing, preventing crime before it occurs, and teaching citizens and businesses how to reduce their chances of becoming victimized.
