The Jupiter Police Department's Teen Academy is open to Jupiter resident high school students.  Members of the Jupiter Police Department will provide students with the opportunity to learn more about the Jupiter Police Department and understand core police functions, explore careers in law enforcement, and participate in hands-on activities.  Some physical activity and discipline will be involved.

This academy is specifically designed for high school students and to provide an interactive look at police work. Students will have the unique opportunity to learn about several functions to include:

  • SWAT
  • Road Patrol
  • Traffic/Motor/DUI
  • K-9
  • Marine/Beach/Dive
  • Narcotics/Investigations
  • Crime Scene Investigation
  • CPR Certification

 

The class is limited to the first 20 students.  There is no cost to attend this program and participating students will receive a t-shirt and certificate.  Students must provide their own transportation and are expected to attend all classes.  

A criminal background check will be completed prior to acceptance into the class. Individuals convicted of a misdemeanor or felony will not be accepted into the program.

**Please note - students should not attend the first day of class until a confirmation letter or phone call of acceptance is received.  The Jupiter Police Department reserves the right to reject any applicant whom it believes would be counterproductive to the department and/or the program.
