FREE Movie Nights

Adults are invited to watch sensory-friendly movies at the Community Center. Lemonade and popcorn will be served.  While this program is free, we do ask you to pre-register.  The auditorium will be well-lit, the speakers turned down and audience members are invited to get up and dance, walk, shout or sing!

Bell Choir

Jupiter’s first handbell choir engaging out-of-school special needs adults will continue throughout the fall and spring! This session, developed by special needs parents Donna Maheady and Vicki Silver, will show other families and supporters how playing music can teach hands-on learners teamwork, social interaction and communication skills. The program does not provide aides or personal supports. Those who accompany participants will need to actively participate in each practice session.

Arts & Crafts Class (Two Sessions)

The Town of Jupiter and Brenda Nickolaus invites Adults with Special Needs to explore their inner unique creativity through hands-on arts and craft classes. No experience is required and all materials will be provided. The program does not provide aides or personal supports. Those who accompany participants will need to actively participate in each class.

Fitness & Creative Movement for Adults with Special Needs

Join Shari Stafford as she inspires participants by leading them in exercises, understanding their bodies, offering healthy eating ideas – all while having fun! The class will also expose participants to music and dance as a form of exercise and expression. Exercise is an integral part of a healthy lifestyle and this program will offer physical activity in a group setting where participants will learn commitment to themselves as well as to the group. This program does not provide aides or personal supports. Those who accompany participants will need to actively participate in each class.

Special Olympics Cheerleading (ages 16+)

The ultimate objective of Special Olympics Florida is to help people with intellectual disabilities participate as productive and respected members of society at large, by offering them a fair opportunity to develop and demonstrate their skills and talents through sports training and competition, and by increasing the public’s awareness of their capabilities and needs. No previous cheer or dance experience is required. This is a FREE program for participants who meet eligibility criteria of having intellectual disabilities or a similar developmental disability. Holiday Social

Come join us for a fun-filled evening of music, dancing and holiday cheer! Music provided by the Royal DJ's!! RSVP required. Light refreshments will be served, but those with food sensitivities are welcome to bring their own snacks and drinks. This event; does not provide aides or personal supports.
