Our Mission

It is the mission of the Code Compliance Division to work in partnership with residents and businesses to promote and maintain a safe and desirable living and working environment; to uniformly interpret and enforce the Town Code in a fair manner; to provide information and educational programs intended to improve the standards of the community; and to protect and enhance property values while helping to safeguard the quality of life within the Town of Jupiter

What We Do

Code Compliance responds to complaints from town residents and businesses, other town departments, neighborhood and community groups, and neighboring municipalities and agencies. The code officers also perform proactive daily inspections throughout the town in an effort to contain developing problems, and their response time for complaints is usually within twenty-four hours from when the complaint is received.

The Code Compliance Division of the Police Department currently employs a code supervisor, an administrative specialist, and four code compliance officers. The code officers initiated approximately 2,100 code violations between June 1, 2020 to June 1, 2021.

Code Compliance is primarily concerned with issues involving general property maintenance, minimum housing standards, occupancy overcrowding, zoning violations, overgrown lots or yards, inoperative vehicles, illegal signs, parking violations, health & safety violations, and any potential problem that may affect the quality of life within the Town of Jupiter.
