| On the first Tuesday in August, neighborhoods throughout Jupiter will join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the annual "National Night Out" Crime/Drug Prevention Event. This year, Jupiter will celebrate on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 from 6pm - 9pm at the Riverwalk Events Plaza underneath the Indiantown Road Bridge (view map).
Bring the whole family and enjoy demonstrations (including Jupiter Police Department K-9 and SWAT demonstrations), food, a kids fun area, music and more! In all, over 28 million people are expected to participate in "America’s Night Out Against Crime" throughout the U.S.
"National Night Out" is designed to do the following: 1. Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; 2. Generate support and participation in local anti-crime efforts. 3. Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community relations. 4. Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. Jupiter Police Department's newest addition, Bloodhound "Unit 111", will be in attendance and his new name will be announced at this event. Voting for his name, online and at the event, will end at 7:30pm. We hope your community can join us in sending a message to criminals. If you have any questions on NNO, please contact:
