K-9 Unit
K-9 OfficerThe K-9 Unit is comprised of specially trained police dogs and their police officer handlers. The use of canines is imperative in the fight against crime and provide protection for officers and the community. The K-9's utilize their indispensable abilities of smell, sight, speed, and agility in tracking and apprehending felony suspects, in locating missing persons and conducting area/building searches.

The K-9 Unit responds to requests for assistance from Jupiter Officers, requests from smaller adjacent jurisdictions, and State and Federal agencies. The dogs and their handlers participated in numerous area searches, building searches, tracks, searches for narcotics, and explosives.  The Unit also conducts demonstrations for various school groups, civic organizations, the Citizens Police Academy, and the Junior Police Academy.

For assistance or more information on the K-9 Unit, please contact Sergeant Adam Hirsch.
