New Vegetation Removal Policy

Q: Do I need a vegetation removal permit prior to clearing my property?

A: Owner's of Single Family homes who wish to remove a tree, if property is located in a community that is under the guidance of an HOA, the town of Jupiter will not require a permit. In these cases, the property owner shall obtain HOA approval for tree removal and replacement, if required.  Tree replacement shall be required when the tree to be removed is required based upon it being a part od an approved landscape plan for the individual residence within the Planned Development.  Click here for a pdf of the complete tree removal policy.

Q: Do I need a permit to prune my trees and shrubs?

A: Pruning of trees and shrubs is considered a routine maintenance activity that would not require a permit, however, the Jupiter Town code requires all pruning activites to be in conformance with the ANSI A300 pruning standards. Natural Resources staff recommends that all tree pruning be performed by a CERTIFIED ARBORIST.
