- Incorporation Date: February 1925 - a link to the story about the birth of the Town of Jupiter
- Name: It is believed that the Town of Jupiter was
named for the Jobe Native American tribe. When Spain colonized the
area, they named a stream in the area Rio Jobe. In 1742 a map listed it
as the "Jove River". When the town was founded by British settlers,
they recognized the name "Jove", as the Roman god "Jupiter", and altered
the name of the settlement that became our Town.

in Jupiter is home to the Florida Marlins' and St. Louis Cardinal's
Spring Training facilities, as well as the Jupiter Hammerheads and Palm
Beach Cardinals (A) Minor League teams of the Florida State League. The
Florida Marlin rookie team also practices at the state of the art
facility.
