FUNdamentals Sports Education Classes

Childhood obesity is at an all time high in the United States so give you and your child the resources to combat this preventable condition.  Learn the basics to a well balanced diet and exercise program and give your child the tools to a more active and healthier future.

Fundamentals coaches are carefully selected and trained, each possessing the unique ability to deliver our program to children in an engaging and entertaining way.  The benefits of FUNdamentals will carry over into all organized team sports if your children express an interest in participating in these sports later in life. Are your children ready to learn physical fitness skills while having a blast conquering a variety of sports?

FUNdamentals not only focuses on physical skills, but also building self-esteem and confidence within each and every child. This is accomplished through education, praise, and accomplishment. During the last week of each sport, your child will participate in a Completion Ceremony. Parents are invited to attend and witness their children receive a Completion Certificate and a special award for giving their best effort with each sport. Don’t worry! If you and your spouse are unable attend you will be able to view this on the Hometown Bridges website weekly using your secure login information.

FUNdamentals Sports Education- Grounders (children ages 2.5 years – 6 years)
Imaginations will soar as children are guided through weekly “Adventures in Sports”. Each week children participate in songs, rhymes, storylines, and basic sports skills and concepts. Equipment and concepts become characters within these creatively designed class programs. Throughout the session your children will have fun while experiencing and learning the following team sports in a non-competitive environment: Soccer, Baseball, Football, Hockey, And more…

Ready, Set, Move! Fitness Program
This program is an exhilarating, cutting edge and complete fitness program in our community for children,  ages 8 years through 13 years. Ready, Set, Move features weekly exercise classes, weekly "at home" fitness requirements, online study material and quizzes, monthly family fun run, monthly cooking and nutrition classes, and a professionally constructed and an affordable diet plan. The entire program will contain both online tracking reports in order to see real results throughout program. Parents will become educated and involved in healthy lifestyle habits with and for their children. The children will gain confidence and self-esteem, while increasing strength, endurance and overall health. NOTE: All students must wear sneakers, comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle.

Program Components:

• One hour weekly fitness and exercise classes
• Weekly "At Home" fitness requirements
• Monthly family fun run
• Eight week, easy to follow diet plan produced by a licensed children's dietician. Diet plans will be designed to fit into all budgets
• Monthly nutrition and healthy recipe cooking class demonstration
• BMI (Body Mass Index) testing throughout the program. BMI results will be delivered, via email, to parents.
• Online fitness and nutrition tips, homework, and quizzes
• Online program results tracking and on-going health tips
• Monthly Email Newsletter
• Program Completion Celebration Party
