Guns Across the Loxahatchee

An Archeologist Investigation of the Seminole Wars in Florida with a special focus on the Battle of the Loxahatchee, February 24, 1838, which was fought in Jupiter. Richard J. Procyk is a local Historian and Archeologist who has worked with local teams and unearthed the stie of the Battle on the Loxahatchee River in Northern Palm Beach County, as well as the locations of the subsequent encampment of the Tennesse Volunteers commanded by Major William Lauderdale, near Old Fort Jupiter.

A struggle for control in Florida as fought between the US Armed Forces and the Red and Black Seminole Warriors. The bloodiest was the Second Seminole War, part of which took place in a battle, in Riverbend Park.
