Business Registration/Renewal Process

All Business Tax Registration is processed online through the Jupiter Community Development System (JCDS) portal. A valid e-mail address is required. For your convenience, if you do not have online access or need assistance, there are two (2) computer stations available in the BTR office at 210 Military Trail, 8AM-4PM, Monday-Friday.

Through the JCDS, you are able to apply for new business tax registrations, review your existing business license(s), and renew your business license(s) online. For additional renewal information, please visit BTR renewals webpage.

To apply for a Business Tax Receipt, new businesses and licensees must create an account through the Jupiter Community Development System (JCDS). Please visit New Business Registrations for JCDS access instructions. You will need to upload your required documents when applying for a new Business Tax Receipt.

Required Documents (Updated 3/9/16)

  • Business Establishment
    • Articles of Incorporation and/or Fictitious Name Registration
    • Building Inspection May be Required
    • Commercial locations will require a Fire Rescue inspection. Contact 561-233-0050 to schedule your Business Registration inspection. If applicable, copy of Non-Profit Paperwork (This requirement varies)
    • If applicable, copy of State License or Certificate of Competency (This requirement varies)
    • Copy of Drivers License
  • In-Town Contractors
    • Copy of applicant's drivers license
    • State License and/or Certificate of Competency
  • Out of Town Contractors
    • No longer apply with Business Tax Registration
    • All Out of Town Contractor applications will be handled through the Building Division at the time of permit application.
  • State Licensed Professional
    • Copy of applicant's drivers license
    • State License and/or Certificate of Competency
  • Out of Town Business (This does not include Out of Town Contractors - See Above)
    • Current copy of local County Business Tax Receipt
    • Copy of applicants driver's license
    • Copy of State license and/or Certificate of Competency
    • Copy of General Liability (showing Town of Jupiter as the certificate holder)
    • Copy of workers compensation or exemption
