The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has hired consulting engineers Kimley Horn to prepare the Project Development and Environmental (PDE) study necessary to begin the design effort for the replacement of this 60-year-old bridge. The replacement bridge will be constructed with pedestrian sidewalks and bike lanes as this bridge is a highly traveled corridor.
2. ”1,000 North” Restaurant at Jupiter Harbor:
Demolition of the existing building to build a restaurant, “1,000 North,” and add office space. Plans also include increased outdoor seating, the addition of transient boat slips and a future connection to the Jupiter Riverwalk. This project is currently under construction.
3. Love Street and A1A Property (4 acre site, including the existing surface parking lot):
The mixed-use development proposal was approved in June. It includes a pedestrian-friendly open space, retail shops, restaurants and office space. The existing commercial fishing boats will remain. The project also includes extending the Riverwalk. The intensity of the proposal as previously designed has been reduced and the previously-proposed parking structure has been eliminated.
4. The Historic Sperry Boathouse (circa 1902):
The original boathouse was recently demolished due to safety concerns. The property owner plans to construct a replica of the boat house in the future. No plans have been approved by the Town to-date.
5. Kempe Property (A1A and Parkway Street):
Phase 2 is a mixed-use proposal that is approved and includes office, restaurant, retail and 6 residential units. Phase 1 was completed years ago and includes the office building on the corner of A1A and Saturn Street. Phase 2 construction dates have not been confirmed at this time.
6. Parkway Street Parking Lot:
This proposed public parking lot will provide approximately 300 parking spaces available for use by the public and for lease by the businesses within the Inlet Village for their parking needs. The site plan was approved by the Town Council. Timing of construction is not yet determined.
7. Indiantown Road US1 to A1A Improvements:
This project, currently in the concept phase, will provide for increased safety for bicyclists and pedestrians by providing continuous bike lanes, pedestrian crosswalks, and slowing down the vehicular speed along the corridor. In addition, drainage improvements and aesthetic improvements are proposed. Landscape improvements include street trees and incorporating a wide center median for palm plantings. Final approval of the project is subject to an inter-local agreement being reached between the Town and Palm Beach County.
8. Lighthouse Cove Mini Golf:
The site plan amendment was recently approved to construct a playground and multi-purpose pavilion on a 0.2-acre preserve area. In lieu of having preserved lands on the property, the business is paying a mitigation fee.
